EPW - Continental quarter repeating verge fusee with Jaquemarts automation, 59mm, copper-plated brass OF purpose-made consular case with observation cuvette, phony 18K hallmarks, KWKS, WED at center, silvered field with gilt and copper-tone figures and decoration, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#66088 within case-back. Gross weight of assembled watch 98.3 dwt (152.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, watch winds, ticks once or twice and then skips, plates show fine gilding, some oxide on steel components, original case-ring and cuvette missing; repeat not working, plunged all the way in and not running down; dial with hls; hands excellent, nicely selected; case shows light wear, most plating gone, few MFS, no dents or dings; closure good; bow tight, pendant well proportioned; flat domed glass crystal has been bored for key access as has the glazed crystal over mvt.
